Saugatuck-Douglas CVB Presents The 3rd Annual Christmas Cookie Tour Of Inns On Dec. 5th & 6th
The Saugatuck-Douglas Convention & Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the 3rd Annual “Christmas Cookie Tour of Inns” this holiday season on December 5th & 6th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. following the 1 p.m. Annual “Whooville” Christmas Parade in downtown Saugatuck.
Eighteen of the areas most popular inns, hotels and B&Bs will participate in an area wide holiday open house to welcome guests into their festively decorated lodging facilities and share their family’s most treasured Christmas Cookie Recipes.
This self-guided tour will immerse visitors in the aromas, sights and sounds of Christmas in Michigan’s most charming turn-of-the-century beach town while enjoying the legendary hospitality of local innkeepers.
Tickets will cost $12 per person and may be reserved in advance by credit card or purchased on the day of the tour at the Saugatuck-Douglas Visitors Bureau, 95 Blue Star Highway, Douglas, MI. (269)857-1701.

Participating lodging establishments include: The Amble Inn, Americinn Lodge & Suites, Bayside Inn, The Belvedere Inn, Blue Star Motel, Castle in the Country B&B, Rosemont Inn Resort, Saugatuck’s Victorian Inn, Serendipity B&B, The Seymour House B&B, Sherwood Forest B&B, Starlite Motel, Heritage Manor Inn, The Kingsley House, Bella Vita Suites, The Kirby, Art House and The Captain’s Quarters.
All participating lodging establishments are located within five miles of Downtown Saugatuck with the exception of Castle in the Country which is located 30 miles east of Saugatuck-Douglas.
This will be an action-packed holiday weekend.
The Saugatuck-Douglas Area Business Association and The Saugatuck-Douglas Convention & Visitors Bureau have joined forces to present this holiday season’s Whooville Christmas parade, Santa’s workshop and the annual tree lighting ceremony so consider bringing the whole family for three days of fun and merriment.
One hour before the Cookie Tour begins at 1 p.m. in downtown Saugatuck, dress up as your favorite Whoville character and join Saugatuck’s Festive Holiday Parade which will be led by Whoville’s fabled Mayor “Walter the Wonderful” as parade grand marshal.
The parade will include the wonderful Saugatuck High School band, The Whoville Peppermint Stick Marching Brigade, the Snow Shovel Drill Team, Whoville’s best-dressed parade pets, and of course, everyone’s favorite Christmas villain… THE GRINCH!!!
The Banana Car, a huge hit at last year’s parade, will be back! The Banana Car will be offering rides after the parade wraps up. The Big Banana Car will depart from the Coral Gables Annex.
From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. families with children can enjoy Santa’s Workshop at the Annex at Coral Gables on Water Street in downtown Saugatuck.
There will be photo opportunities with Santa plus kids craft projects, tree decorating, music, refreshments and more!
Free carriage rides will take place between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. leaving from Coral Gables Annex on Saturday December 5th.
The Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at the Rose Garden on Butler Street in downtown Saugatuck.
In keeping with tradition, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided compliments of Laura Durham of Mill Pond Realty.
Saugatuck’s new mayor, Chris Peterson, will host the tree lighting ceremony where special donors to the community holiday tree fund will be recognized.
Holiday carols will be performed by the Good Tidings Caroling Company!
