New Executive Director Named At Saugatuck-Douglas CVB

It is our pleasure to introduce you to Josh Albrecht our new SDACVB Executive Director. A welcome reception is presently being planned, more information to follow.

Josh comes to us from the Rockford (Illinois) Area Convention & Visitors Bureau where he served as Director of Marketing and Public Affairs.

In that position his primary responsibilities included the award-winning redesign of the RACVB website (www.gorockford.com), producing a new print visitors guide, and public relations with local and regional media and partners (with an emphasis on earned media).

Josh has extensive experience in several key marketing areas including social media marketing, and developing comprehensive leisure marketing campaigns including online (SEO/PPC/Digital), print, radio and video components.

While in Rockford, Josh served as the Board President of the River District Association, a board member of the Discovery Center Children’s Museum, and the Storefront Committee Chair of Rockford Community Partners.

Prior to his work in Rockford, Josh worked for Dixon Main Street in Dixon, IL, with emphasis on business development, historic preservation, fundraising and tourism.

In August 2012, Josh was instrumental in Dixon Main Street bringing the Gentlemen of the Road Festival featuring Mumford & Sons to Dixon for a two-day festival that brought more than 20,000 people to downtown Dixon.

From 2013-15 Josh did freelance work for Jam Productions and Madison House Presents as part of the GOTR Festival. Responsibilities included being a part of the site selection team, community relations, and volunteer management.

He began his career as the Weeklies Director for NI Publishing (now Shaw Media) in DeKalb, IL. During his nearly 10 years in the newspaper industry, Josh did everything from writing, design, photography, circulation, and advertising (basically everything in a newsroom except running the press).

Josh’s wife is Kelly, who is a school counselor, and their three boys - Owen (age 12), August (age 8), and Dashiell (age 5) - will join him in Saugatuck/Douglas at the end of the 2018 school year.

Josh noted that his family fell in love with the community when they visited earlier this year; they’re eager to get settled and start building memories in their new home.

Throughout the winter Josh will be splitting time between Saugatuck/Douglas and his family in Rockford.

He will work three days in the CVB office and two days from his Rockford home office; throughout this transition period Josh will always be available to members via phone and email when not in the CVB office.

Josh looks forward to working with the Board to launch the refreshed SDACVB website (December launch date) and coordinate the 2018 Visitors Guide.

He will also be meeting with members to learn about your businesses and your needs, and sharing 2018 goals and programs.
