Halloween In Saugatuck & Douglas Will Be "Spooktacular" With Parades, Corn Maze And Festivities

     Spirits will soar next week in the towns of Saugatuck and Douglas as Halloween festivities  will provide “spooktacular” fun for all ages.
        On Friday,  October 30 from 7-10 p.m., Glow in the Park, a family friendly event where “anything that glows goes” will take place in Beery Field in downtown Douglas.      There will be music, food and drink along with fun glow-in-the-dark activities for the kids.
        At Cranes Orchards in Fennville, a 20-acre corn maze makes for a great family fall event. October hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from noon to 6 p.m. Adult admission - $7. Children 6-10 - $5 and 5 and under – free.

        During the day, select Saugatuck and Douglas merchants will be offering special treats to those in costume. Look for signs in the windows or on the door indicating trick or treaters welcomed.
        Prior to the Family Costume Parade, there will be a pre-parade party hosted by the American Legion Hall on Mason Street between Butler & Griffith streets in downtown Saugatuck starting at 3 p.m. Free cider & doughnuts and face-painting will be provided.
        At 3:30 p.m., judging will begin with ribbons being awarded for the best costumes in these categories – most creative, funniest, scariest, best witch and best group.
        The parade kicks off at 4 p.m. in downtown Saugatuck.  Immediately after the parade, participants are invited back to the Legion Hall for story-telling and a magic show.   
        The Douglas Halloween Walking Parade for adults begins at 9 p.m. with a pre-parade party. Parade line-up will be at 9:30 p.m. on South Washington Street in downtown Douglas between Beery Field and Unity Church.

        Following the parade, many restaurants and bars will be having Halloween parties with the Dunes Resort among the largest.
        The Interurban will be offering free rides from 7 p.m. to  2 a.m.
