Fennville District Library Offers Summer Of Fun With Signups Beginning June 10


        Fennville District Library invites all area youth and teens to sign up for its 2016 summer reading program, “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!”  
        Sign-up begins Friday, June 10 when youth will receive a free mini-flashlight and a chance to read in one of the tents set up in the library during its four-day “Camp Out & Read at the Library” event. The library will offer many other programs this summer.  
        On Thursday, June 16 at 2 p.m., Cirque Amongus will perform circus acts and lead a workshop following the performance. The Cirque Amongus event is sponsored through financial assistance from the Michigan Humanities Council.  Drama Club with Lakeshore Arts Alliance begins Friday, June 17 and continues each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. The library will feature the “Fresh Food Fairy” on Thursday, June 23 at 2 p.m. and a life-size drop-in game of Candyland on Thursday, June 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  
        The library will also offer family story times and play times, teen anime club, and writing groups throughout June and July.
        “Exercise Your Mind” is the theme of the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program.  
        The program starts June 10 and runs through July 25 and will feature puzzles, mind games and creative activities. All participants that complete the program will be eligible for prize drawings of a 7-inch Fire Tablet and a $25.00 Barnes and Noble gift card.  
     Runners-up may choose a prize from the library’s prize table. The drawing will take place during the summer reading closing party on July 27.  
        As part of the adult summer reading program, the library will sponsor a “Puzzle War” with prizes on Sunday, July 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. Teams of four are encouraged and will be challenged to see how much of a 1,000 piece puzzle they can complete in four hours.
