City Of Saugatuck To Hold Harbor Management Plan Presentation Sept. 13
The public is invited to attend a presentation of the City of Saugatuck’s Harbor Management Plan on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Saugatuck High School Media Room at 401 Elizabeth Street.
The consulting firm of Edgewater Resources will make the presentation and answer questions, along with Saugatuck city officials.
The City of Saugatuck has been working with Edgewater Resources over the past year to develop a Harbor Management Plan in conjunction with the City of Douglas and the Kalamazoo Lake Harbor Authority.
One of the critical objectives of this project has been to review all available alternatives to manage sedimentation in Kalamazoo Lake, evaluate the alternatives from both a feasibility and permitting standpoint, and identify the most cost effective solution to addressing long-term harbor maintenance.
The Saugatuck City Council adopted the Harbor Management Plan dated August 9, 2016 at the regular city council meeting that was held on Aug. 22, 2016.
A copy of the full plan can be viewed on the City of Saugatuck’s website at:
