Burns Withdraws From State Rep Race
Former Allegan County Commissioner Terry Burns today announced he is withdrawing from the 80th District Race for State Representative.
“As many of you know this year has been difficult,” said Burns.
“I have suffered a significant tragedy with the loss of my daughter. With that being said, the impact of a race for State Representative is a major undertaking at anytime, let alone off of the heels of a tragedy.”
Burns continued, “As a grandfather of two boys going through a significant trauma, my time is better spent with my family helping them rather than campaigning for State Representative.
“So I am announcing that I am withdrawing from the race for State Representative effective immediately.”
Burns, of Douglas was a former Allegan County Commissioner from 2007-2012 and is a substance abuse counselor in the Holland community.
