Beautifully Designed Saugatuck Home Featured In Coastal Living
Each year Coastal Living’s March issue is dedicated to the power of color as an element of interior design, and this year the Azalea Cottage in Saugatuck, designed by Interior Designers Gwen DeBruyn and Amber Burger, is featured in that issue.
Coastal Living has been a major source of inspiration for the designers who pride themselves in their coastal, casual, colorful style, adapted for life on the Great Lakes.
“In our lakefront towns, traditional designs don’t always work,” said DeBruyn.
“Spaces adapted for kids, dogs, sunshine and sand are the order of the day, and our barefoot, comfortable, relaxed summertime style is a great match with Coastal Living’s casual aesthetic.
“It’s beyond exciting that our first nationally published project will be in the magazine that is such a
source of inspiration for me,” added DeBruyn.
In August 2014, the magazine sent two photographers from New York and a stylist from Los Angeles to Saugatuck to style and photograph Gwen and husband Jay’s home overlooking the Kalamazoo River.
“This past year, since we found out our project was selected for publication, it has been a bit of a whirlwind of fun and hard work,” said Burger.
“Even now, it feels a little unreal,” she added.
Gwen owns and operates Bayberry Cottage in South Haven, a Colorful Furniture Boutique and Design Firm.
Gwen and Jay DeBruyn own and operate Shores Vacation Rentals in Saugatuck/Douglas, which appeals to upscale market homeowners wishing to rent their Lakeshore Properties.
