Allegan County Sheriff's Department Says Ganges Township Woman's Death A Homicide
A Ganges Township woman’s death is being investigated as a homicide and her husband is being called a “wanted suspect.”
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Department received a call at about 1 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 13) alerting them to woman’s demise and the address where the body could be found.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6200 block of 116th Avenue in Ganges Township after a call was placed to the 911 Central Dispatch Center indicating that a person at that location was deceased.
Deputies responding to the scene did discover the body of a female subject that was deceased.
The victim has been identified as Sara Lee Knight, 48. Detectives say the victim’s husband - Harold “Butch” Knight - is now a “wanted suspect” in the murder case. An arrest warrant has been issued, according to the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office.
Detectives believe the call to 911 that was made Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. was made by Harold Knight. He may be driving a 2009 Subaru Forrester, light green in color, registered to the victim and bearing Michigan registration plate GM74A.
